The West Side Community Center, once a thriving hub of activities for all ages, had seen a decline in activities and participation in recent years due to many factors (changing demographics, pandemic, resources). A group of residents, interested in revitalizing the center, surveyed West Side residents who expressed interest in revitalizing this local resource.

Wicomico County, who owns the building and has been responsible for past programming, concluded that the best chance for Its ability to serve local residents might be to turn it over to the local West Side community. They offered to license the building to us with the requirement that we form our own local non-profit to be the responsible party in the license agreement and in order to provide our own programs to best serve our community.

Given this opportunity, a group of volunteer local citizens began the hard work of making this vision a reality and the WestSide Neighborhood Alliance (WSNA) was born.

In March of 2024, following a year of preparation, WSNA received certification from the IRS to operate as a tax deductible 501(c)(3) organization. Currently we have a Board of Directors and widespread volunteer participation, all West Side citizens.

We have lots of wonderful ideas for

programs, classes, services and special events that we can offer at the Community Center. Our intention is to serve all of our residents as best we can.

As we begin, we are first and foremost in need or startup funds to enable WSNA to accomplish its mission. We welcome donations of any amount as we begin to reach out to our friends and neighbors.

Once we get started and have a track record there will be a lot more fundraising opportunities available to us!

activities and events that will enrich the lives of children and adults, teens and seniors, families,

friends and neighbors, and to serve all ages or our community regardless of ethnicity, gender,
